Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast at the hotel, take western direction by road, stop at Royal Drum makers, and the Equator, experiencing both hemispheres at once. Lunch at Mbarara, and continue through savannah grasslands seeing beautiful banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredible long curving horns, and tea fields .Arrive in the park by late afternoon and relax at Kyambura game Lodge pool side or Ihamba Lodge as we wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Game Drive and Launch Cruise - Queen Elizabeth National Park
Wake-up early for a cup of tea/coffee and embark on a morning game drive along Kasenyi trail to catch up with early raisers and predators returning to their hide outs. Expect an encounter with Lions, herds of elephants and buffaloes, warthogs, spotted hyenas, leopard, antelopes, and many more. Return for full breakfast at your lodge, relax as we wait for an afternoon game drive along the Kazinga Channel, famous for the highest concentration of Hippos in Africa along side other animals such as Huge Nile Crocodiles and over 611 bird species. Return to the lodge before sun set for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Nature walk - caves exploration - Depart for Masaka Town
Morning Nature walk in Maramagambo forest in search for more birds and volcanic caves full of Bats and pythons. After lunch, drive to Masaka town with excellent birding enroute. Dinner and overnight in Masaka Town.
Day 4: Kaaku swamp walk - Depart for Kampala
After breakfast, drive to Kaaku swamp and other Ramsar sites in Masaka. Look for birds such as the Rufous-bellied Heron, Lesser Jacana, Lesser Moorhen and shoe bill among others. Proceed to Kampala, Overnight at Hotel Africana / Kampala Lodge/ Cassia Lodge.
Day 5: Kampala city tour - Airport Transfer
If time allows you can carry out shopping before transfer to the airport for your out bound flight.
