Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari
n the morning wakeup for breakfast before driving southwest to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive will take you along Masaka Mbarara road to stop at the Equator for photographs and then proceed to stop in Mbarara for lunch and then drive to reach the park in the afternoon. You may go for an evening game drive that's if you are not so tired or go visit the Katwe salt mines. The later is provided on request. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Mweya Hostel.
Day 2: Chimp trekking and launch cruise
Early morning drive to Kyambura Gorge for a thrilling Chimpanzee safari. The gorge is the natural home of chimpanzees. Your guided walk in search of the chimps and other primates, may last several hours. After lunch, enjoy a cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which joins Lake Edward and Lake George. This waterway is filled with schools of hippos and buffalos .Elephants are often spotted on the banks. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Institute of Ecology (FB)
Day 3: Game drive and depart for Lake Mburo
After an early breakfast, you will take a game drive later transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Enjoy an afternoon boat trip along the Lake Mburo. Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented camp or Rwonyo camp.
Day 4: Mburo - Kampala
This morning you will go for a game drive to the lakeshore track and with its own system of game trails and cleared walkways; the "Kigambara Loop" offers interesting guided lakeside walks. Here you can find herds of zebra, cape buffalo and eland, and Oribi and topi are easy to approach. Bird watchers will enjoy more than 250 species of birds found in Lake Mburo including Papyrus Gonoleks, Brown-faced Lapwings. Carruther's Cisticolas, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-Faced Go-away bird. You will then have lunch en route and proceed to Kampala.
